Prep For Day 4: Cars Don't Care About Orphans, Do You?

I'm not 100% sure, but fairly certain that Alina had never been in a car before arriving to Utah this summer, and Albina had only been in a car a few times.  By the time we arrived home from picking up the girls from the airport, Alina was crying and feeling like she was going to throw up.  Albina felt sick on longer rides, but tried not to complain too much.  By the time they left, they were able to travel without too much problem.  But for a while, car sickness was a big issue.  Hopefully they will be able to adjust again quickly when we get them back to Utah.

We've been realizing that with 6 kids living at home, we don't have a lot of options for our family car.  It'll be tough to carpool much since we will use every seat belt in our van.  And if we want to take all 7 kids on any sort of trip at some point, I'm not exactly sure how we'll do it.  Regardless, carpooling for us won't be an option much longer.

So, as a last ditch effort to help the environment:

On the fourth day of Christmas, our orphans need from you:

CARPOOLS TO WORK

Cars, cars everywhere.
Lots of pollution in the air.
You should carpool if you care.
If you don't, then BEWARE!

When do you carpool?

To Work?
To School?
To Dance Classes?
To Social Outings?

So we all know we should do it... but do we?
The pros are obvious.  I mean, there's the pollution, the gas prices, the enjoyable company that could be had (which would certainly make the trip go faster, unless there are awkward silences... and then, look here for a solution!).

And today, there's ONE MORE BENEFIT!

Here's the challenge:
  1. Look at your calendar and determine where you need to be and when today.
  2. Call someone that has to be at the same place at the same approximate time and see if you can combine both trips into only one trip.
  3. Save money on gas as well as wear and tear on your vehicle and donate a little something to our adoption fund.
  4. And while you're at it, you should tell the person that you're carpooling with to help us out as well by donating their gas savings to our adoption fund as well.
Simple.
Responsible.
Helpful.
