Last Sunday, while sitting in church, I started
praying. I told God
that I didn’t know how to do everything.
I told him that I couldn’t raise this money on my own. I explained that I couldn’t get my kids out of Ukraine
and into our home without guidance. I
told him I didn’t have the energy, strength, skill, or knowledge to take care
of everything and get through this process. After my silent prayer, I received this thought/answer from
God to my concerns:
“I asked Moses to lead the Israelites out of Egypt. He felt he was inadequate, but I
provided him with people to fill in the gaps… and I will provide people for you
as well.”
I had the distinct feeling that God would provide people to
help me, and that I should trust Him and stand back and watch Him provide.
Last night, a family friend offered to help with
fundraising. He indicated that he
was confident in his ability to come up with ideas, contact people and put on
large fundraising events. God sent
me person #1.
This morning I got an email from a family member that is
currently kayaking down a river to Costa Rica. He hasn’t been available for a few weeks (no phone or
internet), but today he was able to get online and read some of our blog. He pledged some money. God sent me person #2.
I received emails from 2 different people last night and
this morning indicating a willingness to contribute whatever they could to our
cause. They don’t have money to
donate, but one wants to donate their time and help with fundraising and the
other wants to donate her services to our upcoming online auction. God sent me person #3 and person #4.
And finally (and perhaps this should have been person #1), I
received a second donation from an individual that already donated. She also sent an encouraging note that
had me in tears (happy, GRATEFUL tears).
I love that God has sent person #5 into my life!
I can’t wait to meet person #7…
PS $7000 goal progress. We've had $545 donated!
