A New Daughter!

I just read this post and cried.  I am so happy for the Bahr family and their newest addition, Tanya.  I love hearing of the successes of those around me and realizing that soon I will be able to experience the same thing.  I am so excited to see our kids again and most importantly, to get them home with us!

In addition, this email was forwarded to me last weekend.  I feel so humbled and grateful that this family is not only helping our family, but encouraging others to do the same.

Dear Friends and Family,

At this Holiday Season when people are making lists of things that they are thankful for, decorations are all over the stores, and Christmas songs are already playing on some radios, our hearts are turned to helping those in need. More donations are made at Christmas time, than any other time of the year. Every year, we look for a family that we can help and we have wonderful memories of the joy we shared as a family as we participated in our Christmas giving.

This year, we have decided to help out in a different way. We are friends with the Truax family from our days in Kansas City. They now live in Utah and they have embarked on an unusual adventure. They have an amazing story of how they came into contact with three wonderful Ukranian orphans. They feel so inspired that these children are supposed to be part of their family. It is a very expensive process to adopt these three children. They need almost $70,000 and have raised close to half of that amount at this time. There is a real time crunch because the oldest girl is 16, and that is the age that orphans can be put out of the orphanage and onto the streets, so time is not on their side. So this year, instead of helping in our local community, we are going to send our Christmas donation to the Truax family and we would like you to consider doing the same thing. Please go to their blog, and click on the upper left-hand corner where you can read the details of their amazing story.

Any donations would be so appreciated by them. They have been so grateful for all of the support that they have received so far, but they need more. I hope you will feel a desire in your heart to help these three children be able to become a part of this loving family.

Thanks for taking the time to read their blog.

Thank you to all of you that have been contributing to our cause!
We are going to get there because of your help!
Let's keep it going!
